Leadership / Management Tip
Quote by John Quincy Adams

"Try and fail, but don't fail to try."

— John Quincy Adams

Be innovative and experimental, and don't be afraid to try new ways of doing business. Carefully constructed plans, which include detailed protocols and anticipated outcomes, are the best way of trying new initiatives, processes, and protocols. Failure is a natural, and in fact healthy, part of growth for any person, team, and organization. The important factor to consider and plan for is to ensure that failure of a particular experiment does not lead to catastrophic outcomes that cannot be reversed. The best way to avoid catastrophic and unintended consequences is to plan thoughtfully, carefully, and comprehensively, breaking the problem into small, discrete, and manageable parts.
