Don't throw your boss or other higher-level administrators under the bus!
Unfortunately, this is done very commonly. Weak and ineffective leaders blame a tough decision on those higher in the organizational hierarchy. They do this partly out of fear, partly out of weakness, partly to endear themselves to those around them and reporting to them, partly because they have not bought into the vision and the larger decision, partly because they have not embraced the priorities of the organization, and partly because they are spineless. Don't do this! It is unprofessional. It demonstrates a lack of experience. It is symptomatic of a rudderless leader. If you have a hard time aligning yourself with the leadership of your organization - for whatever reason - it is time to move on to another organization.
