Not only is incremental change a constant, but major disruptions will also become routine.
It is important to understand that in the modern world, everyone is trying to disrupt the existing order, paradigms, principles, processes, etc. Today, right now, someone out there is trying to disrupt some aspect of how you run your business operations. Some of the coming disruptions will be simple and address unique aspects of business processes (e.g., new digital devices, cloud services, etc.). Other disruptions will be monumental and lead to paradigm shifts in how you will run your organization (e.g., automation driven by artificial intelligence).
The disruptors may come from any industry sector, educational background, country, age, and gender group. It is even more important to understand that some of the would-be disruptors are lurking around in your own organization, planning carefully and methodically, with good or bad intentions, to do aspects of your job better than you do.
