Too many leaders give themselves the liberty to cut people off mid-sentence. Effective leaders don't do this. It is rude. It sets a bad example. It gives the message that the leader is more interested in talking than in listening. It marginalizes the most vulnerable within the organization.
Effective leaders create a space in which others can freely speak. Effective leaders focus more on listening and are truly interested in hearing what others have to say. Effective leaders are active listeners and not active interrupters.
